Hey there! I'm Lorin Walter... the guy who created all the art you'll find on these pages.

I was born a long time ago, in Madison, Wisconsin, with a crayon in my hand. As far back as I can remember, art has been my passion.

In grade school I liked to draw what I saw, which put me at odds with my art teacher who insisted that trees should look like lollypops. Hmmmmmm.

My family moved to Richland Center, Wisconsin when I was eight. Different art teacher... same agenda. What was it about art teachers in the 60s? Didn't they ever look outside and see trees that didn't resemble candy? Sheesh.

Fortunately, high school brought me Mr. Beatty... the art teacher I would know and respect for the next four years. Finally. Branches.

After a stint with the local newspaper publisher, I entered college at UW-Richland and UW-Eau Claire. Here the art teachers not only saw branches, they taught me forests.

Fast forward. Today. Minneapolis, MN. After several years in advertising, I realized my true calling. Children's illustration. Whimsical illustration that everyone can enjoy. I've been at it now for over a dozen years... and not once have I felt compelled to draw a lollypop tree.
